
Marcus Magarian, Managing Director, Technology and Cross-Border Transactions, has more than 20 years of experience across investment banking, capital markets, and enterprise technology. At Chatsworth, he advises AI-enabled, SaaS, fintech, and data-driven companies on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic expansion between the United States and Europe, working with founders, boards, private equity sponsors, and corporate acquirers on complex cross-border mandates. His focus areas include artificial intelligence, enterprise software, digital infrastructure, and recurring revenue business models, with particular emphasis on revenue quality, cross-border structuring, capital efficiency, and buyer positioning.
Prior to Chatsworth, Mr. Magarian was part of the team that helped establish the U.S. operations of ContentSquare, the digital experience platform, where he worked with enterprise clients including Goldman Sachs (Marcus.com), UBS SmartWealth, Walmart, and Electrolux Americas on customer journey analytics and data-driven growth strategy. Earlier in his career, he traded OTC derivatives at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, then served from 2007 to 2012 as Co-Head of International at Banco Votorantim, where he helped establish the U.S. investment banking presence of the Votorantim Group, one of Latin America's largest privately held industrial conglomerates, executing cross-border placements across private equity, infrastructure, energy, and corporate transactions in the Americas and Europe. He also served as Head of Investor Relations for Mare Investimentos, a Brazilian energy and technology focused fund, and worked alongside the Chief Executive Officer of Bradesco Securities USA.
A dual citizen of the United States and Brazil based in Paris, Mr. Magarian works in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. He is Ambassador at La Place, the fintech incubator of the Paris Stock Exchange, and founder of The Exit Strategy Podcast, a long-form interview series with founders, operators, and investors on transaction dynamics in technology and cross-border markets. He speaks regularly at European technology forums, including the GenAI Summit Paris and TRUSTECH.
Mr. Magarian holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Behavioral Economics from Binghamton University and an MBA from HEC Paris. He completed executive studies in Risk Management at New York University, earned a graded certificate in Data Science from Columbia University, and has completed additional coursework in statistical programming at Harvard University.
