About Marcus
Managing Director
Marcus Magarian is a technology investment banker advising AI-driven, SaaS, fintech, and data-enabled companies on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic expansion between the United States and Europe. He works with founders, boards, private equity sponsors, and corporate acquirers on complex multi-jurisdictional transactions, with particular focus on artificial intelligence, enterprise software, digital infrastructure, and recurring revenue business models.
His advisory work emphasizes revenue quality, data architecture defensibility, cross-border regulatory structuring, capital efficiency, and buyer positioning. He evaluates technology companies not only on financial performance but on system integrity, analytics maturity, platform scalability, and long-term defensibility in AI-enabled markets.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Magarian was part of the team that established the U.S. operations of ContentSquare, a global Digital Experience Platform that has raised more than $1.4 billion in capital. During that period, he worked with enterprise clients including Goldman Sachs (Marcus.com), UBS Smartwealth, Walmart, and Electrolux Americas, advising on customer journey analytics, digital performance optimization, and data-driven growth strategies.
Earlier in his career, he worked on the OTC derivatives desks at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, applying quantitative market data to structured product pricing and risk analysis. He later joined the Votorantim Group, one of Latin America’s largest privately held industrial conglomerates, where he helped establish its U.S. investment banking presence and executed cross-border capital placements across private equity, infrastructure, energy, and corporate transactions spanning the United States, Europe, and Latin America. He also served as Head of Investor Relations for Mare Investimentos, a Brazilian energy and technology-focused fund, and worked alongside the CEO of Bradesco Securities USA before transitioning fully into technology and digital platforms.
Mr. Magarian combines capital markets execution with technical fluency in data systems. He is proficient in SQL, relational database structures, and statistical programming in R, allowing him to engage directly with product, engineering, and data teams during diligence. This technical foundation supports deeper analysis of SaaS metrics, customer cohorts, churn dynamics, monetization logic, and AI infrastructure readiness.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Binghamton University, where he concentrated in Behavioral Economics and quantitative decision sciences, and an MBA from HEC Paris. He completed executive studies in Risk Management at New York University and earned a graded certificate in Data Science from Columbia University. He has also completed advanced coursework in statistical programming (Harvard University), AI and large language model frameworks, and SQL-based analytics to support enterprise-level transaction analysis in AI-enabled sectors.
