Syngon "Sy" L. Hare was a dedicated financial professional and public servant whose career was defined by his expertise and commitment to his community. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Sy went on to graduate from Indiana University and serve in the U.S. Air Force, where he built a strong foundation in communications systems intelligence.
Sy was a well-respected member of the California financial community for many years. Prior to joining Chatsworth, he was a founding partner and Head of Capital Markets at Luther, Smith & Small. When he joined Chatsworth Securities, he brought a deep understanding of broker-dealer operations and FINRA regulations to the firm, and spent over a decade helping establish and maintain its presence within the syndicate community. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Chief of Finance for the Western Region of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Following his tenure at Chatsworth, Sy founded SL Hare Capital, Inc. in Los Angeles. Under his leadership, the minority-owned firm built a solid reputation in financial advisory, corporate and municipal debt underwriting, and equity capital markets.
In addition to his professional work, Sy was deeply active in community and civic affairs. His contributions to Southern California, including his service on the Rebuild L.A. Committee, were recognized by a Special Resolution of the California State Senate. Sy will be remembered for his professional integrity and his long-standing dedication to the many communities he served.
